Job Overview
The Marketing Manager is critical to the success of the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC). This position is responsible for working with licensing managers to become familiar with new and existing technologies and research strengths at Georgetown; conduct research to find prospective licensees and research collaborators and make initial and follow-up contact with prospective licensees and collaborators. As part of this outreach, the Marketing Manager will organize and participate in marketing events and conferences, as well as coordinate the preparation and production of marketing material. Additionally, the Marketing Manager is responsible for maintaining industry contact information, technology marketing history in the OTC database, develop and nurture relationships with industry BD representatives as well as investors and other sponsors and funders. In addition to technology marketing, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for effective website content and social media presence for OTC and relevant information with the goal of marketing OTC and its services externally to the ecosystem and internally within Georgetown. Internal outreach to Georgetown researchers and other stakeholder, in addition to external outreach and business development, is critical to the success of OTC and Georgetown research enterprise.
Work Interactions
The Marketing Manager reports directly to the VP for Technology Commercialization. This position works closely with licensing managers in the development of marketing and outreach strategies for new and existing technologies that are part of the OTC portfolio as well as research collaboration opportunities. The Marketing Manager also interacts directly with prospective licensees and research partners. Marketing Manager works closely with other communications specialists within the University as well as OGC, researchers and other stakeholders.

Requirements And Qualifications
MBA, BA/BS in life science, MS in life science with a BA in business,
Master’s degree in a science or business discipline and two years of experience in a science or technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Practical experience: Strong background in biotechnology, medical and life sciences. At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in technology commercialization, business development or marketing.
