JOB OVERVIEW
The Executive Director (ED) will serve as Georgia's Friends' chief executive officer, responsible for overseeing the organization's administration, programs, and strategic planning. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors to lead the organization into its next phase of strategic development, ensuring the fulfillment of its mission and vision. The ED must have some understanding of addiction recovery and be ready to step in and assist with operations in the event of an emergency or staff absence, ensuring continuity of care and support for programming needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUCCESS
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan that advances the organization’s mission and goals.
- Guide the organization through growth while ensuring program stability and sustainability.
- Act as a bridge between the Board of Directors and staff, ensuring that board decisions are translated into actionable steps.

Program Oversight and Hands-on Support:
- Ensure effective implementation and evaluation of programs, particularly Georgia’s House, to meet the needs of women in recovery.

Fundraising and Financial Management:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including securing grants and cultivating donor relationships.

Community Engagement and Advocacy:
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, enhancing its public image to expand interest and support.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience in nonprofit leadership, program management, or social services will be strongly considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience, with a track record of leading and scaling programs.
- Proven success in fundraising, including securing grants and cultivating donor relationships.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, decision-making, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and inspire a team.
