About the College of Computing:
The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. Job Summary
Plan, perform and coordinate the administrative and financial support activities for assigned faculty member(s) and associated research group(s) as part of a shared services environment. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: multidisciplinary faculty. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, research faculty, staff, students, and administrators. This position will supervise: assigned support staff and students.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Prepare grant proposals for faculty, develop budget and required documents for grant submission, review and ensure documents are correct, route for approvals.
Job Duty 8 -
Coordinate events, including faculty visits, meetings, seminars, conferences, program reviews, multi-investigator site visits and workshops.

Perform other duties as assigned

Train incoming Faculty Support Coordinators in the delivery of administrative support.

Oversee the workload assignments and supervise Faculty Support Coordinator I positions
Job Duty 4 -
Compile information, confer with appropriate staff, maintain records, and prepare correspondence and reports.
Job Duty 5 -
Address, develop, implement, and interpret business and administrative related processes for assigned research groups consistent with Institute policies.
Job Duty 6 -
Serve as a liaison with the finance office in the coordination and oversight of sponsored project activity.
Job Duty 7 -
Oversee and coordinate the hiring process for assigned groups by assembling personnel forms, arranging transportation and facilitating housing accommodations for new faculty.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the GTA hiring spreadsheets each semester for approximately 300 students per semester.
2. Manage travel and purchasing request from faculty and students. Enter, approve, and track transactions.
3. Review and approve GradWorks entries.
4. Manage and submit fellowship applications and documentation.
5. Support select group of faculty members with their financial portfolios. Oversee all post-award activity on sponsored funds to include but not limited to: Initiating outgoing subawards, monitoring sub-recipients, coordinating with sponsors for agreements, budgets, amendments, and reporting when Georgia Tech is the subawardee, advising faculty of award terms and conditions and monitoring for compliance, assisting with reporting requirements, and closeout. Ensure the correct distribution of all salaries on sponsored, state, and gift funds, grants, and contracts by utilizing the OneUSG commitment accounting tool. Manage financial activity for all state, sponsored, and gift funds of assigned faculty to include expenditure approvals, account monitoring, compliance, oversight of procurement, subaward expenditures, and reporting requirements. Provide budget forecasting and monthly status reports on all state, sponsored, and gift funds for assigned faculty. Review and reconcile all accounts monthly. Provide subject matter expertise related to Uniform Guidance requirements.
6 .Prepare and submit grant proposals for assigned group of faculty.
7. Process concurrent hire and Tech temp requests.
8. Assist with departmental training needs.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requupported for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requupportements).
Required Experience
Seven to nine years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
University experience, particularly in an academic research environment is preferred; Supervisory and organization skills highly desired; Working knowledge related to support of research project teams with specific experience in grant accounting, budgeting and reporting is preferred as are skills in records management, conference and event planning

This job requires use of office and specialized computer applications and systems. Skills in financial record keeping, report writing, communications, and customer service is required.
