What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at Geotek LLC?
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting users, computers, software, phones, and printers of the organization through a Help Desk ticketing system and under the direction of the IT Manager. This position is responsible for system installation, modification, maintenance, monitoring, reporting and/or integration of client computer operating systems and applications to meet business needs.
Essential Functions
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex computer, software, phone, video conferencing, and printer issues
- Research and recommend solutions to technical problems of various levels
- Finds new technology solutions to advance the technology of the company
- Ability to work independently at times and participate in or lead smaller projects
- Meets timelines and goals
- Communicates and escalates issues to team members
- Reports to work prepared and on time
- Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies
- Maintains technical knowledge leveraging webinars, team cross training, workshops, and online communities
- Performs other duties as directed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading computers and software
- Excellent customer service skills with strong customer focus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with others
- Undergraduate degree in Computer science or related field
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in technology field a plus
- Experience with: Windows 10/11, M365 products, video conferencing software, printers, user maintenance, workstation imaging, Help Desk software
- Manufacturing Help Desk experience a plus
- Solid analytical and strategic skills
- Ability to manage and effectively prioritize competing priorities
- Ability to meet requirements set forth by standard operating procedures and electronic work instructions
- Ability to establish immediate credibility and engagement at all levels
- Demonstrates the ability to follow direction and produce expected results
- Readily adapts to new systems and processes
Physical Work Conditions
Position is primarily in an office setting but will require some work in the production area around load equipment and chemicals. This position may require bending, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds.
