Position: Press Brake Operator
Department: Shop Operations
Reports to: Shop Operations Manager
Pay: $20-$30/hr
Job Objective: Using a manual or CNC press brake, the Forming Operator will create components or parts from raw material.?Promotes and enhances TSM Metal Works mission to create a community of industry experts committed to supply chain solutions, quality products and superior customer satisfaction.
Skill Summary:
Generally competent operator able to read plans and form most complex products. Knows the limitations of all tooling and equipment. Is able perform routine machine maintenance and trouble shoot errors in program. Can work independently with very little supervision. Helps train less experienced members of the team. Key for the success of the team goals.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties?include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews drawing, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Sets up appropriate machine and settings for given task.
- Selects correct and appropriate raw material per the assigned task.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Monitors production and adjusts feeds and other settings as necessary.
- Checks output for quality.
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
- Troubleshoot any issue that may arise during the forming and rolling process.
- Identifies, marks, and prepares for shipping.
- Adheres to the best practices to maintain a safe worksite and products
- Works the assigned schedule including any overtime and complies with the company's timekeeping policy.

- High school, technical training, or experience on how to safely operate metal working equipment and have learned skills and techniques related to rolling.
- Speaks fluently, reads, comprehends in the English language.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and able to convert fractions to decimals and decimals into fractions.
- Ability to accurately use a variety of measuring tools such as a tape measure and calipers.
- Displays strong organization and time management skills.
