In this remote position, you will collaborate with the Lead Teacher to create an enriching and developmentally appropriate learning environment for our young students. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in organizing and delivering engaging educational programs tailored to Early Childhood students.
- Facilitate morning meetings utilizing an adapted Responsive Classroom model, fostering positive interactions among children and their surroundings.
- Create a warm and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and interaction.
- Participate in lesson planning, activity implementation, and assessment of student progress, reflecting on the effectiveness of lessons to improve future learning experiences.
- Maintain current training in mandated childcare practices (15 hours online annually).
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to uphold a positive educational environment.
- Attend faculty meetings before the academic year and engage in professional development opportunities.
- Communicate proactively with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- Utilize the ‘Seesaw’ platform for sharing classroom updates with families.
- Support school-wide events and initiatives, including Parent/Teacher Conferences and Open House.
- Supervise students in various settings, including outdoor play and related arts classes.
- Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance and medical documentation.
- A genuine passion for nurturing young children and a keen understanding of their developmental needs.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in facilitating learning across different settings (whole group, small group, individual).
- Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy, energy, and flexibility.
- Proficiency in basic technology (iPad, iPhone apps, Google Suite, photo editing).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience working with young children is preferred.
