Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead teachers to create an enriching learning atmosphere for students.
- Assist in delivering lesson plans and reinforce learning through individualized and small group instruction.
- Support students in maintaining focus and appropriate behavior by consistently applying school and classroom routines.
- Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress effectively.
- Lead small group and personalized instruction employing evidence-based strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Partner with special education staff to implement necessary accommodations and supports for students.
- Communicate effectively with families and participate in team and parent meetings when required.
- Assist in supervising students during various activities, including lunch, recess, and transitional periods.
- Contribute to classroom management tasks, such as preparing materials and ensuring a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Engage in continuous professional development sessions and utilize feedback to enhance instructional practices.
- Strong ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of college education.
- Experience working with children in educational contexts.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, ESL, or Special Education.
- Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.
- Preferred: Experience providing instructional support or working with students with varied learning needs.
