Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English instruction to students in grades 1 through 12, with the option to focus on specific educational levels.
- Accurately assess students’ learning capabilities and adapt instruction to meet their unique needs.
- Support students in test preparation, homework assistance, and reinforce lesson concepts to enhance their understanding.
- Energize and motivate students, ensuring they remain focused and engaged during sessions.
- Create and modify lesson plans to align with individual learning objectives.
- Collaborate professionally with families to promote student success and maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Travel to students’ homes or other agreed locations for face-to-face sessions as necessary.
- Utilize digital tools for effective virtual tutoring when required.
- Proficient in teaching English across various educational levels, either elementary/middle school or high school.
- Strong ability to quickly evaluate a student’s skill level and tailor lessons accordingly.
- Experience in tutoring is preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with both in-person and online instructional methods is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel for in-person sessions and adapt to virtual teaching as needed.
- A valid NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification is required.
