Job Overview

Are you a dedicated educator eager to ignite a passion for mathematics in young learners? We are looking for an enthusiastic Math Tutor to join our team in a remote capacity. As an essential member of our personalized, one-on-one tutoring service, you will contribute to fostering academic success for students at various levels, from Elementary to High School Mathematics. Your creativity and commitment will be instrumental in shaping impactful learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct students in math concepts that align with their grade level, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
• Evaluate students’ current understanding and design customized tutoring plans to address their specific learning requirements.
• Provide assistance with homework and prepare students for tests, quizzes, and assignments.
• Cultivate a motivating and engaging learning atmosphere to enhance students’ confidence and focus.
• Develop or adhere to lesson plans that align with students’ educational objectives.
• Maintain open lines of communication with families, offering regular updates on student progress and guidance for further support.
• Be available to meet students in convenient locations for in-person tutoring sessions, as well as provide virtual instruction as needed.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient in teaching 1st-8th grade or 9th-12th grade math concepts, such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus.
• Strong communication abilities to ensure effective collaboration with students and their families.
• Adaptability in creating tailored tutoring plans based on the unique needs of each student.
• Capability to effectively utilize online tools and platforms for virtual tutoring sessions.
  
  

Qualifications

• A valid NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification is required for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to teach the relevant math concepts for the assigned grade level.

• Expected Hours: 1-4 hours weekly (flexible)
