Job Title: Instructional Aide - Remote | WFH

Job Overview: The Instructional Aide for Special Education is instrumental in providing tailored support to students with disabilities, fostering both their academic and behavioral growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately document and report vital information pertaining to students' academic achievements, behavioral progress, and health status, maintaining comprehensive service logs.
  • Assist students in effectively utilizing instructional materials and tools, modifying approaches to cater to their unique learning requirements.
  • Communicate with parents about their children's progress, providing both verbal and written updates on achievements and challenges.
  • Engage directly with students to reinforce learning objectives, offering customized guidance to help them reach their academic targets.
  • Adapt activities, assignments, or resources as instructed by educators and caregivers to facilitate successful task completion.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support, assisting students in developing essential social skills and positive behaviors.
  • Implement behavior management strategies, including positive reinforcement techniques, to promote student development and self-regulation.
  • Ensure a secure and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued and can thrive.
  • React appropriately during emergencies, with a preference for candidates holding First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Notify parents of any changes in students' health that may affect their learning or behavior.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 60 college credits or an Associate's degree is required.
  • At least one year of experience working with adolescents in relevant environments such as internships, volunteering, or student teaching.
