Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored, specialized instruction through virtual platforms to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Create, implement, and uphold Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring adherence to all federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with general education colleagues to provide necessary accommodations and modifications for students.
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and ensure documentation is current.
- Conduct virtual meetings with parents, colleagues, and relevant stakeholders to discuss student progress and strategies for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to parents/guardians, sharing insights into effective learning techniques to aid students.
- Engage proactively in professional development and team meetings to enhance teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
- Proven proficiency with virtual learning platforms and educational technology.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Master’s degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in an educational setting.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships in a remote environment.
