Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers and the Site Coordinator to implement a 4-day program centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), along with enrichment activities in health, wellness, culture, and social-emotional learning.
- Assist in instructional delivery under the direction of site directors while complying with all safety and health protocols.
- Create and maintain a physically and emotionally secure, structured, and organized learning atmosphere.
- Establish positive relationships with students by actively modeling and promoting healthy lifestyle choices on personal, social, and academic fronts.
- Address student behavioral challenges as necessary and reinforce clear, consistent, and affirmative expectations for learning and conduct.
- Employ best practices to fulfill grant objectives and embody the mission of the program.
- Engage in weekly team meetings to discuss program execution, needs, reflections, and improvement goals.
- Participate in required professional development training to refine skills and knowledge.
- Timely monitor and respond to communications via the program’s email and other platforms, collaborating with directors, coordinators, and fellow team members.
- Execute other tasks as designated by the Site Coordinator or directors.
- Uphold professionalism at all times, adhering to program standards, online safety, and learning protocols.
- State of Maine Ed Tech Certification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Preferred Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Education or a related discipline.
- Experience working with children, particularly in elementary education, is preferable.
- A genuine passion for learning and motivating children to develop a similar passion.
- Familiarity with diverse communities and low-performing populations is advantageous; experience with English Language Learners is a plus for specific locations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in various technological tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive Suite, and Zoom.
- A flexible, thoughtful, and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- A growth mindset and a readiness to learn and implement progressive educational strategies.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
