Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with program directors and school personnel to optimize the enrollment and registration process for students.
- Oversee the daily implementation of the in-person STEAM curriculum and enrichment activities, with support from site directors.
- Act as the primary liaison for parents, volunteers, and school staff regarding student enrollment, schedules, participation, behavior, and progress while enhancing program visibility and facilitating family engagement events.
- Ensure a safe and structured learning environment that promotes emotional well-being for both students and staff.
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and providing support during behavioral challenges.
- Employ effective strategies to maintain consistent student attendance and achieve enrollment objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, meal counts, program activities, and other pertinent data as required by the program director.
- Collaborate with program directors in crafting enrichment activities, schedules, and curriculum content.
- Lead a small team of educators, teaching assistants, and volunteers, fostering teamwork and open communication.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to assess program needs, reflect on practices, and pinpoint areas for advancement.
- Communicate promptly with students, families, and team members via phone and email during the program, ensuring consistent monitoring of communications.
- Assist in planning and organizing family and community events, presentations, and guest activities.
- Uphold professionalism at all times, adhering to program expectations and online safety protocols.
- Proven leadership experience in an educational context.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient in various technologies, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive Suite, Zoom, and other relevant platforms.
- Flexibility, creativity, and adept problem-solving capabilities.
- A growth mindset with an eagerness to learn and adapt innovative teaching methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid State of Maine Teaching Certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with elementary-aged students.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience working with diverse communities and low-performing populations preferred; familiarity with English Language Learners is a plus.
