Key Responsibilities
- Remain current with emerging technology trends, embracing both hardware and software advancements.
- Work in collaboration with the Assistive Technology Manager to enhance technology sharing through workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
- Partner with the Assistive Technology Manager to develop and execute engaging educational programs tailored for individuals with visual impairments across various settings.
- Lead classroom instruction within the technology center and play an active role in recruiting participants for programs.
- Continuously explore innovative products and applications in technology; attend relevant training to enhance expertise.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality technology services to program participants in a timely manner.
- Foster professional relationships with school districts, colleagues, and relevant organizations.
- Provide consultative technology services to educators and school staff, including assessments and lesson plan development.
- Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill assistive technology requirements for employees.
- Complete all required documentation punctually while adapting to changes and taking on additional responsibilities as required.
- Exceptional communication abilities, coupled with a strong teaching aptitude and collaborative spirit.
- Proficiency in modern technological tools, including computers, tablets, and software applications.
- Familiarity with both PC and Macintosh systems, along with conventional hardware/software setups.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications, as well as mobile device operating systems.
- Openness to learning and adapting to new technological innovations.
- Capability to occasionally lift and/or relocate items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- An Associate's degree in teaching, vocational training, technology, or education is preferred. Relevant certifications in software or hardware applications may substitute for advanced degrees.
- A minimum of one year of teaching or training experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with diverse populations and proficiency in assistive technology for individuals with visual impairments.
