Position Title: Vice President of Business Development

Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and accomplished Vice President of Business Development to drive growth initiatives within a forward-thinking electric motor manufacturing and service organization. This role is ideally suited for an individual with a strong enthusiasm for sales leadership and a robust background in industrial motor sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new business opportunities and manage daily sales operations, fostering collaboration with key clients.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate effective sales strategies while building a dynamic and high-performing sales team.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives targeting both governmental and commercial sectors.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive sales funnel while identifying opportunities for enhancement to achieve sales objectives.
  • Mentor and guide the sales team, empowering them to drive revenue growth.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new sales personnel, developing programs to enhance quotation accuracy and throughput.
  • Manage existing sales teams, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to customer contract obligations.
  • Oversee the establishment and management of sales budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Lead the bid bonding process to secure municipal projects and cultivate lasting customer relationships.
  • Set ambitious sales targets for the team and motivate them to achieve annual goals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor actions to provide precise sales forecasts.
  • Anticipate customer needs and enhance satisfaction through timely and effective solutions.
  • Develop performance metrics and comprehensive sales reports for the leadership team.
  • Manage the effective use of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to optimize sales processes.

Required Skills

  • Extensive expertise in electromechanical rotating equipment, specifically within the medium voltage motor sector.
  • Proven success in leading substantial sales teams and improving sales processes.
  • Strong skills in relationship management, with a track record of establishing enduring customer partnerships.
  • Familiarity with municipal contracts and proficiency in the bidding process.
  • Experience with CRM tools (PipeDrive preferred) to manage sales funnels effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer service capabilities, complemented by a professional demeanor.
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Background in driving top-line sales growth and experience estimating large motor sales or repair projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in medium and/or high voltage industrial motor sales.
