Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive external affairs strategy to enhance our standing in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors.
- Craft messaging and branding initiatives that effectively convey our mission and values.
- Monitor public perception and proactively manage potential reputational risks.
- Produce engaging content such as reports, press releases, and social media postings, ensuring alignment with our brand and audience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to amplify visibility and awareness of our mission.
- Oversee digital strategy, ensuring consistency across our online presence and leveraging digital tools for stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team to identify new funding opportunities and represent the organization at events and conferences.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing External Affairs team while tracking the effectiveness of strategies and refining approaches as necessary.
- Extensive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or related fields, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Strong expertise in media relations and digital marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and navigate complex initiatives.
- Proactive and innovative mindset in external affairs and communications.
- A deep commitment to driving social impact and fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in strategic communications or related fields.
- At least 7 years in a leadership capacity.
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
