Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial reporting while adhering to accounting standards and non-profit regulations.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to promote long-term financial viability.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and effective recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures to protect assets and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage financial risks related to investments, insurance, and reserve funds.
  • Facilitate annual audits by coordinating with external auditors for timely and successful compliance.
  • Present financial data, reports, and key performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program directors and departmental leaders to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.
  • Cultivate and mentor a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of collaboration and ongoing improvement.
  • Assist in fundraising and grant management by overseeing the financial components of grant budgeting, tracking, and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management, particularly within the non-profit sector.
  • Profound understanding of non-profit accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant financial management software and tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking and adept problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of articulating complex financial concepts with clarity.
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in all financial dealings.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
