Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to become a vital member of our innovative Finance team. This fully remote position reports to the VP of Finance and is integral in managing corporate accounting functions. This opportunity is perfect for a hands-on financial expert with a robust accounting background who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing procedures, including journal entries and analyses, ensuring timely and accurate internal financial reporting.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, and journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain the general ledger, along with conducting bank reconciliations.
• Enhance and refine accounting processes and business systems to ensure efficient reporting and accuracy.
• Establish and uphold internal controls for the accounting team, acting as a liaison for SOX compliance with auditors and staff.
• Support financial audits, SOX audits, and state examinations promptly.
• Represent the accounting team in cross-departmental projects and initiatives across the company.
• Directly supervise a team of both onshore and offshore employees.
• Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.
• Provide support to the VP of Finance, CFO, and COO as required.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
• Experience in a SOX-compliant environment.
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Familiarity with implementing, testing, and supporting financial and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of ASC 842 is advantageous.
• Understanding of federal and state financial lending regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, notably Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Hands-on experience (3-4 years) with AMB or Loan Vision is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Concur and FloQast is beneficial.
• Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, along with a keen attention to detail.
