Key Responsibilities
- Represent veterans in their pursuit of service-connected disability benefits.
- Prepare for and conduct approximately 15 hearings before the Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA) monthly.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and review medical and service records to develop compelling cases.
- Guide clients through the hearing process, providing them with the necessary support and preparation for testimony.
- Draft essential legal documents, including post-hearing briefs and motions.
- Assess BVA decisions and determine appropriate next steps for advocacy.
- Collaborate with case managers to ensure effective communication and handling of cases.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and virtual discussions to foster team cohesion and strategy development.
- Must hold admission to the bar in a U.S. state or territory.
- VA accreditation is preferred.
- Experience in Veterans Disability or Social Security law is advantageous.
- Exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.
- Proficient in conducting in-depth legal research.
- Technologically adept and comfortable utilizing remote work platforms such as Zoom and Slack.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- A compassionate, client-oriented approach to navigating the claims process.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in a U.S. state or territory is mandatory.
