Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization in the ever-evolving field of information technology. This full-time, salaried position will report directly to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, presenting a unique opportunity to champion our mission and enhance our operational activities in a remote working environment.

Our diverse membership base encompasses end-users, business executives, vendors, consultants, government representatives, and other stakeholders. Our annual conference is recognized as Maine’s premier technology event, bringing together professionals and exhibitors for a day of knowledge and networking. We also facilitate monthly educational and social gatherings, providing platforms for independent speakers to address significant business themes from September to April, including webinars and Peers and Beers socials across various locations from Portland to Bangor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the public representative and professional leader of our organization.
  • Engage in fundraising initiatives and public speaking engagements.
  • Act as the main contact for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with a passionate volunteer Board of Directors and board subcommittees.
  • Cultivate and broaden the organization’s presence to fulfill our mission of connecting IT professionals and business leaders for education and networking.
  • Oversee logistics for meetings and conferences.
  • Coordinate events and manage grant writing initiatives.
  • Assist in recruiting speakers and provide marketing support.
  • Ensure responsible budget management.

  • Experience with budget development and oversight.
  • Strong strategic planning and communication proficiencies.

  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • A mission-driven, self-motivated, and proactive approach.
  • A positive demeanor characterized by integrity and passion.
  • Prior experience collaborating with a Board of Directors or similar entities.
  • Proven leadership, management, and fundraising expertise.
  • Preference for candidates with previous non-profit leadership experience.
  • Flexibility in duties and schedule.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated history of effectively leading organizations, achieving significant goals, and positively impacting the community. Previous non-profit leadership experience is preferred.

Compensation

This pivotal position offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and capabilities, reflecting the agreed-upon roles and responsibilities.
