Remote Vice President of Development

Job Overview

We are in search of a passionate and seasoned Vice President of Development who is eager to lead transformative initiatives in major gift and planned giving. This key leadership position will empower you to guide a dedicated team of Development Directors in securing significant donations of $100,000 and above, all within the context of a mission-driven organization that strives to uplift vulnerable children and support their growth.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Relationship Officer and be responsible for the following:

• Formulate and execute donor cultivation strategies to enhance relationships with major benefactors.
• Oversee and mentor Development Directors to help them achieve their fundraising objectives.
• Design and implement a comprehensive major giving program centered on donor engagement and retention.
• Develop stewardship initiatives that foster impactful connections with donors.
• Conduct thorough research on donor portfolios and identify potential new prospects.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns, sharing results with the team.
• Assist with preparations for the annual audit process.
• Adjust strategies to leverage emerging opportunities in the fundraising landscape.
• Participate in international travel to advance initiatives, including two annual trips to Zambia (lasting 7-14 days) and additional weeks for summer programs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline.
