Key Responsibilities
- Address both internal and external inquiries related to premium invoicing.
- Analyze discrepancies in premium payments, providing valuable insights for leadership considerations.
- Investigate member premium inconsistencies and recommend effective resolution strategies.
- Design and implement SQL queries to ensure accurate revenue reconciliation and member account precision.
- Resolve disputes arising from merchant service vendors and bank lockbox transactions.
- Liaise with print vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for premium billing notifications and member communications.
- Collaborate with external vendors to fulfill programming adjustments and operational needs.
- Evaluate refund requests and overpayments, ensuring precise processing of member refunds.
- Verify the accuracy of internal and external broker commission payments.
- Prepare detailed monthly financial and management reports, inclusive of journal entries.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements governing premium billing and revenue reconciliation.
- Cultivate strong internal relationships as a trusted resource within the organization.
- Integrate LEAN principles into daily activities for ongoing process enhancement.
- Execute additional duties as necessary to support financial operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of premium billing practices within the healthcare sector.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and foundational accounting theories.
- Proficiency in SQL Server for query development and data management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfort in engaging with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in premium billing, membership reconciliation, or premium reporting.
- Proven experience collaborating with finance teams on monthly financial reports.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing large datasets and creating SQL queries.
- Experience in managed care and commercial products is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
