Job Overview

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Development and Finance Manager to play a crucial role in furthering our organization’s mission by overseeing financial operations and spearheading development initiatives. In the capacity of Development and Finance Manager, you will significantly contribute to ensuring the financial stability of our organization and nurturing relationships with donors and community supporters. Your efforts will have a direct impact on the sustainability and expansion of our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aimed at securing financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Cultivate and manage donor relationships, including activities related to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns to align with the organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals while managing necessary reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of donations, pledges, and donor interactions within our donor management system.
  • Supervise daily financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership review.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking transactions.
  • Assist in the formulation and oversight of the annual budget.
  • Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and implement recommended audit measures.

Required Skills

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial management software alongside donor management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in nonprofit financial management and fundraising.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Full-Time (On-site in Boston, MA): \(65,000 - \)85,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Part-Time (Remote Eligible): \(25 - \)35 per hour, based on experience.
