Job Overview

We are in search of a dedicated Clinical IT Analyst to be an essential contributor in the support, implementation, and enhancement of clinical applications within a healthcare environment. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with clinical personnel, IT teams, and organizational leadership to ensure the efficient integration of electronic health record (EHR) systems and associated clinical technologies. Your role will encompass assisting in system implementations, providing comprehensive training, troubleshooting technical challenges, and actively promoting process enhancements that foster improved patient care and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a principal IT resource for clinical applications, ensuring proficient implementation, support, and optimization.
  • Deliver end-user training on clinical systems, software, and industry best practices to drive adoption and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical applications in conjunction with the IT support team.
  • Engage in the testing and deployment of new software modules, system upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Maintain and update clinical application dictionaries, tables, and settings to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist clinicians and staff in leveraging healthcare technology to enhance patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to clinical IT systems and data security.
  • Analyze system performance and provide actionable recommendations for optimization and standardization.
  • Stay abreast of healthcare IT trends, compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary for system maintenance and support.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in analyzing technical issues, researching solutions, and implementing effective resolutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in providing training on clinical systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance, including HIPAA.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Commitment to continuous learning of new technologies and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Education: Licensed or certified healthcare professional with relevant technical experience preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years in a healthcare facility with experience in working on inpatient or outpatient electronic health records (EHR).
  • A solid background in technical support, troubleshooting, and system implementation is essential.
  • Experience as a ‘super user’ or clinical application specialist is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IT principles, software applications, hardware troubleshooting, and security best practices.
  • Preferred Certifications: RHIT, RHIA, EHR Certification, PMP, or other pertinent IT certifications.
