Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for patients throughout the entire process of obtaining prescribed medications.
- Conduct benefit investigations, manage prior authorizations, and oversee appeals.
- Deliver expert guidance on insurance coverage and navigate access and reimbursement challenges.
- Educate both patients and healthcare providers on available support tools and eligibility criteria.
- Cultivate and maintain trusting relationships with patients, prescribers, and stakeholders through effective communication.
- Handle incoming calls and offer tailored case management services.
- Leverage electronic resources to ascertain benefits and payer coverage.
- Document all interactions and activities meticulously within our systems.
- Generate necessary reports and perform analyses as required.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and insurance processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
- A Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, social science, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, candidates with five years of relevant experience will be considered.
- A minimum of two years of experience in insurance reimbursement, patient access, direct patient care, or patient education.
- Preferred: at least two years of experience in healthcare access delivery or management.
