Job Title: Director of Events

Job Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled and professional Director of Events to spearhead the planning and execution of both in-person and virtual events. This pivotal role is essential to advancing our mission by fostering engagement with key stakeholders, investors, and our global team. You will oversee a diverse array of events, from large-scale global gatherings to specialized meetings, ensuring each aligns with our strategic objectives and global impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute long-term event strategies that resonate with our organizational goals, coordinating multiple large-scale events in support of ministry objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic engagement calendar for events in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with our overall mission.
  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing events team, promoting synergy across departments including marketing, advancement, and operations.
  • Manage event budgets judiciously to ensure cost-effective execution while meeting financial expectations.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with external vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless event delivery and robust partnerships.
  • Supervise event timelines, logistics, and operations, guaranteeing high-quality execution that adheres to compliance, safety, and legal standards.
  • Identify potential risks associated with events, managing crises effectively and adapting to unanticipated challenges.
  • Assess event performance metrics, such as ROI and attendee satisfaction, to inform ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Communicate event strategies and updates comprehensively to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience throughout the event lifecycle, from registration to post-event follow-up.
  • Oversee all logistical elements related to events, including honorariums, venue selection, meals, transportation, and speaker management.
  • Engage in daily prayer and devotions.
  • Manage signing authority of up to $7,500.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service aptitude and the capacity to engage with diverse groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities and sound decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation, event planning, project management, and vendor selection.
  • Experience in the planning and management of virtual events.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with a talent for prioritizing, multitasking, and managing workflow under pressure.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
  • Excellent time management and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and effective situational analysis.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in event management, with significant leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management software and CRM systems.
  • Event planning or project management certifications (e.g., CMP, CSEP, PMP) are strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with fundraising for nonprofit organizations is highly desirable.
  • Substantial exposure to international cultures and organizations is preferred.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Full-Time position
  • Salary range: \(95,000 - \)115,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Competitive benefits package including 11 paid holidays, flexible paid time off, sick leave, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 403b plan.
  • Compliance with state-mandated Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) programs.
