Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the design and implementation of impactful events that engage stakeholders from the industry, government, and academic sectors, managing the process from conception to post-event analysis.
- Develop comprehensive event timelines and schedules, ensuring efficient task management and adherence to deadlines.
- Ensure that all event branding and messaging is consistent with AFWERX's identity and communication objectives.
- Conduct evaluations post-events to assess success metrics, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for future enhancement.
- Oversee logistical elements, such as venue selection, equipment rentals, transportation, accommodations, catering, and audiovisual requirements.
- Supervise on-site event operations, guaranteeing smooth execution and effective event flow.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to secure necessary services and uphold military protocols during official functions.
- Develop and manage budgets for events, closely monitoring expenditures to stay within government-approved limits.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal capabilities, with a knack for fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
- Expertise in managing multiple events simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet stringent deadlines.
- Proficiency in budget management and resource optimization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
- Knowledge of various virtual event platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar industry credentials.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in event planning or coordination, with 2-3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience executing complex events including conferences, trade shows, and government engagements is critical. Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) and large-scale corporate events is strongly preferred.
