Key Responsibilities
- Engage with residents through a trauma-informed framework, fostering trust and rapport.
- Deliver recovery-focused assistance that centers on individual strengths and aspirations, transcending conventional clinical practices.
- Share your personal recovery story to uplift and motivate those you support.
- Provide coaching on independent living skills while linking members to vital community resources.
- Facilitate community engagement, encouraging members to participate in employment, volunteer opportunities, and social events.
- Assist members in nurturing positive relationships within their support networks.
- Ensure meticulous documentation for agency and funding compliance.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively engage in team meetings, program events, and on-call rotations.
- Identification as an individual in recovery from mental illness, addiction, or both.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with computer proficiency.
- Proven competencies in peer support and adherence to ethical practices.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a peer recovery support capacity.
- At least three years of experience in a human services context.
- Certification as a Tennessee Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or commitment to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is preferred, with experience serving as a substitute.
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and evidence of personal auto insurance.
