Key Responsibilities
- Build rapport and trust with residents using a trauma-informed approach and cultural humility.
- Provide personalized tenancy support that emphasizes individual strengths and aspirations, transcending traditional clinical care.
- Share your personal recovery experiences to foster hope and motivation in others.
- Guide members in developing independent living skills, connecting them to community resources and sustainable support systems.
- Facilitate community engagement through opportunities for employment, volunteering, and social interactions.
- Assist members in cultivating strong relationships with housemates, neighbors, and their natural support networks.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation to meet agency and funding requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to team meetings, program events, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Identification as an individual in recovery from mental illness, addiction, or both.
- Certification as a Tennessee Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a peer recovery support role.
- At least 3 years of experience in the human services domain.
- Proven competencies in peer support and professional ethics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with computer proficiency.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is preferred (experience may substitute for the degree).
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License and proof of personal auto insurance are necessary.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated experience in a peer recovery support capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the human services field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred.
