Remote Project Manager - Embedded Ubuntu Systems | WFH

Job Overview

We are seeking a proficient Project Manager specializing in Ubuntu Embedded Systems to join our Devices team in a remote capacity within the AMERICAS region. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing intricate customer-facing projects from conception to execution, acting as the primary liaison between engineering teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery across various devices, including robots, edge gateways, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation through to completion, aligning with organizational and client objectives.
• Facilitate the delivery of engineering professional services and ensure timely project execution.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on custom board enablement and Ubuntu image deployment.
• Develop and uphold comprehensive project plans, schedules, and statements of work.
• Secure client approvals on project timelines and deliverables.
• Identify project risks and proactively address challenges to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee third-party deliverables, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
• Keep leadership informed on project statuses, risks, and milestones.
• Promote relevant technologies from the product portfolio to fulfill customer requirements.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, accommodating different time zones and flexible working hours as required.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proven track record in project management, particularly in delivering engineering services to clients.
• Strong understanding of Linux and the open-source software landscape, along with a solid comprehension of computer architecture.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A proactive leader and problem-solver with a history of successful partnerships and relationship cultivation.
• Experience managing cross-cultural and multi-continent projects, ideally involving teams from Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  
  

Qualifications

• A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
• PMP, PMI, or PRINCE2 certification is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
