This includes generation tie lines for renewable sources such as wind, solar, and battery energy storage, in addition to standalone transmission lines. This position encompasses the entire project lifecycle—from initial conceptual design through to construction and final commissioning—ensuring both technical excellence and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the design activities for transmission projects, guaranteeing alignment with technical standards and overall project objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to obtain necessary resources, permits, and approvals.
- Formulate detailed project scopes, assess bids, and award contracts for engineering services.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of engineering documentation and deliverables across all stages of the project.
- Act as a technical consultant, providing expertise in value engineering and maintaining high-quality designs.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in high-voltage (HV) transmission line development, design, and construction.
- Proficiency in design and project management tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong project management capabilities with the aptitude to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to facilitate teamwork across multidisciplinary settings.
- Willingness to travel across North America as required.
- Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management software like Primavera is advantageous.
- Knowledge of renewable energy projects and associated regulatory frameworks is preferred.
