This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from initial conceptual design through to construction and commissioning, guaranteeing both technical excellence and timely completions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process for transmission projects, ensuring alignment with technical standards and project objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to obtain necessary resources, permits, and approvals.
- Formulate comprehensive project scopes, assess bids, and award contracts for engineering services.
- Oversee the development and submission of engineering documentation and deliverables throughout all phases of the project.
- Act as a technical advisor, providing expertise in value engineering and ensuring high-quality designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in high-voltage (HV) transmission line development, design, and construction.
- Proficiency in tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong project management abilities with a capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills essential for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to travel within North America as required.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management software like Primavera is advantageous.
- Knowledge of renewable energy projects and relevant regulatory frameworks is beneficial.
