Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with a distributed team to ensure that community processes are executed efficiently.
- Generate compelling content, including blog posts and social media updates, to keep the community informed and engaged with ongoing initiatives and events.
- Provide support to the community through platforms such as AskUbuntu, IRC, and social media by addressing queries and assisting in tool development to promote developer success.
- Advocate for new technical projects that enhance the open-source ecosystem while aligning with community and team objectives for maximum influence.
- Represent the community at conferences, expos, and events, sharing insights about community-driven projects and promoting collaborative development.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in areas such as Linux, DevOps, software development, testing, QA, package management, and container technology.
- Proven experience with open-source projects, including contributions on platforms such as GitHub.
- Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take ownership of objectives.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in engaging with volunteer contributors and familiarity with their workflows. Experience in community management or developer advocacy is advantageous.
- Previous involvement in open-source communities is required.
- Background in community management or experience giving presentations or contributing to open-source initiatives is preferred.
