Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate seamlessly with a globally distributed team of skilled professionals.
- Architect and develop scalable service APIs to deliver streaming data services for various teams and products using Python and Golang.
- Establish data governance, management, and auditing systems within the telemetry platform.
- Partner with the infrastructure team to create cloud-based SaaS offerings and containerized on-premises solutions.
- Design and implement new features, overseeing the process from specifications to production and ongoing operations at scale.
- Conduct code reviews and evaluate technical designs produced by fellow engineers.
- Engage in collaborative discussions to identify and implement optimal technical solutions.
- Participate in international travel opportunities, approximately 2 to 4 weeks per year, for internal and external events.
- Strong backend development expertise coupled with a solid understanding of infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity challenges present in IoT environments, particularly concerning data streaming and connectivity.
- Practical experience with telemetry and connectivity systems, including data streaming technologies such as MQTT, Kafka, and RabbitMQ, as well as observability tools like OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of industrial data exchange protocols, including OPC-UA and ModBus.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing backend web services, messaging/data pipelines, and REST APIs using Python and/or Golang.
- Competence with Ubuntu as a platform for development and deployment.
- A passion for technology and a commitment to collaborating with diverse talent.
- A curious, flexible, and responsible approach to tackling challenges.
- Self-motivated and engaged, with a thoughtful mindset towards work.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
