Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to enhance community engagement and growth.
- Create high-quality content to promote community initiatives and keep members updated on events and achievements.
- Provide essential technical support, ensuring developers have the necessary tools and resources to excel.
- Serve as a liaison between the community and internal teams, advocating for community interests while fostering effective collaboration.
- Engage with the community across diverse platforms, including forums, social media, and conferences.
- Represent the community at conferences, expos, and events, sharing insights on technical projects.
- Travel globally for 2-4 weeks per year, with additional opportunities for travel as desired.
- Cultivate an inclusive environment for community contributions and promote sustainable growth for open-source projects.
- A strong enthusiasm for technology, open-source initiatives, and collaboration with like-minded individuals.
- Flexibility, curiosity, and accountability to adapt to fast-paced environments and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a proven record of accomplishments such as blog posts, GitHub contributions, and speaking engagements.
- Experience with open-source projects and developer tools, as well as proficiency in Linux (both kernel and userspace).
- Familiarity with two or more of the following areas: DevOps, software development, testing and QA, package management, and container technology.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of objectives, and effectively manage time.
- Experience engaging with open-source communities and an understanding of volunteer-driven project dynamics.
- Prior experience in community management and developer advocacy is a plus.
- Familiarity with Ubuntu and its ecosystem is advantageous.
