As a strategic leader, you will provide direction and guidance on project management initiatives throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers through effective recruitment, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
- Allocate resources efficiently by matching staff skills with project requirements for both internal and external initiatives.
- Provide training and technical guidance on essential project management practices including estimation, planning, resource allocation, risk and issue management, change management, and communication strategies.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues proactively across all projects.
- Employ innovative and analytical problem-solving approaches to overcome challenges and resolve complex situations.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and organizational leaders to facilitate project success.
- Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve processes and tools, ensuring the alignment of the PMO with business units.
- Manage departmental budgets and individual project budgets to maintain financial accountability.
- Establish and uphold performance metrics to evaluate and enhance team success.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization to achieve cost reductions and improve customer satisfaction.
- Support the ongoing professional development of team members through mentorship and guidance.
- Assume additional responsibilities as necessary to further the goals of the PMO.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Communications, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in product, program, or project management within a third-party logistics environment.
- Proficiency with Tier 1 systems such as WMS, YMS, and LMS (e.g., SAP, Red Prairie, Manhattan, etc.).
- Experience in facility layout design in a CAD environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is mandatory.
- Preferred certifications include Green Belt and/or Lean Six Sigma.
