We are in search of a motivated Junior Application GIS Developer to join our remote team. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and customer agencies to efficiently resolve service or incident tickets.
- Develop scripts and workflows to automate administrative tasks, utilizing your proficiency in Python and other scripting languages.
- Communicate effectively by preparing and presenting project time and effort estimates, along with creating training materials and documentation for end-users.
- Manage all phases of development and maintenance for assigned applications and scripts under general supervision.
- Conduct research on system enhancements and perform thorough analysis and design of computer applications.
- Design, code, test, and meticulously document applications and scripts, while providing production support for both simple and complex applications.
- If applicable, mentor junior team members and take the lead on smaller projects or contribute to larger initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Outstanding organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of one year of experience with scripting languages, APIs, and modules including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Pandas, ArcPy, ArcGIS API, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
- One year of experience with Microsoft SQL Enterprise Databases (v2016 ) and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- At least two years of scripting experience using Python.
- Proven capability in developing policies and workflows within collaborative settings, as well as crafting training and documentation for end users.
