This pivotal role will concentrate on non-nuclear, carbon-free generation, energy storage, and geothermal initiatives, overseeing projects from initial feasibility assessments through to construction. You will provide customized resource solutions for public power utilities, managing a diverse range of projects with varying scopes and budgets, from smaller renewable energy endeavors to extensive conventional energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all stages of project development for technology applications and power management projects, including need identification, proposal preparation, team formation, consultant management, and project planning.
- Direct administrative and technical support teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee procurement for significant equipment and construction services while coordinating project financing and working with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams for cost assessments and transitions.
- Negotiate term sheets, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and various development agreements in collaboration with sector managers.
- Remain informed about advancements in power supply technologies by engaging in industry events, reviewing technical literature, and participating in relevant committees.
- Cultivate and maintain robust professional relationships across the energy sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of different power supply technologies and familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills, including team building, contractor management, financial planning, and schedule oversight.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaborative and problem-solving abilities to tackle intricate project planning, regulatory, and financial challenges while aligning with organizational goals.
- Adaptability to effectively work with diverse teams, skillfully navigating interpersonal dynamics while balancing leadership and mentoring roles.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project or program management; or an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant experience.
- Level 2: Bachelor's degree with 8 years of progressively responsible experience in an electric public utility or related organizational context; or an Associate's degree with 10 years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of experience.
- Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 10 years of progressively responsible experience in an electric public utility or similar organization; or an Associate's degree with 12 years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with 14 years of experience.
