Remote Software Engineer - Stores | WFH Opportunity

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our innovative and agile team that is at the forefront of developing open-source software, Linux, and scalable Web Services. In this role, you will play an instrumental part in creating and managing backend services that drive significant digital marketplaces. Our systems primarily leverage Python, with elements of Golang, to ensure they are optimized for global user demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a diverse, globally-distributed team of engineers to enhance and refine backend services.
• Develop clean and efficient web service APIs that support both CLI and web frontend clients using Python (Golang is optional).
• Design, implement, and maintain new features from conception through to production, ensuring scalability and system reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and evaluate technical designs provided by colleagues.
• Engage in problem-solving and technical discussions to devise effective solutions.
• Participate in global travel for 2-4 weeks for internal and external engagements (remote work when not traveling).
  
  

Required Skills

• Proven experience in developing public-facing APIs and web applications utilizing Python.
• Strong technical expertise, particularly in backend development and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases; adept at designing efficient data models and optimizing queries.
• Proficiency in utilizing Ubuntu as a development and deployment platform.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong passion for technology.
