Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance of third-party logistics providers (3PL) concerning inventory management, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing, and customer service.
- Ensure the accuracy and health of inventory through daily stock assessments, reconciliation, and proactive forecasting.
- Monitor and enhance delivery performance, ensuring that service standards are consistently met and developing contingency strategies as required.
- Support and lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize the 3PL supply chain, aiming to reduce operational costs and enhance efficiency.
- Cultivate and maintain effective communication channels with both internal and external stakeholders, including key vendors and suppliers.
- Analyze logistic data to identify improvement opportunities and present actionable insights to management.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring performance aligns with company objectives.
- Conduct investigations into delivery failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Drive performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), striving to meet or exceed established standards while improving overall cost and service metrics.
- Strong analytical capabilities to manage business metrics utilizing daily KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships.
- Tactical and critical thinking skills to address complex logistics challenges.
- Proficient computer literacy with a solid understanding of logistics processes.
- Knowledge of financial measures relevant to logistics operations.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehousing and/or supply chain management, alongside 2 years in a logistics management role.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in managing third-party logistics providers, CSCP certification, an advanced technical or business degree, and familiarity with the chemical supply chain, particularly pertaining to export shipments and DOT 49 CFR compliance.
