Remote Purchasing Manager for Children's Publishing

Job Overview

We are on the lookout for an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee our children’s publishing division, specifically focusing on the procurement and production of printed materials. This remote role provides the flexibility of hybrid work from either our Naperville or NYC offices, or the option to work fully remotely from select states.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the complete purchasing and printing operations for children’s titles and Callisto.
• Align creative expectations of internal stakeholders with the practicalities of printing and delivery timelines.
• Lead and mentor a dedicated team of print buyers.
• Formulate and execute strategies aimed at boosting operational efficiency, quality, and market responsiveness.
• Stay abreast of industry innovations and advancements in printing technologies, incorporating new practices to enhance productivity.
• Address and resolve intricate supply chain challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including editorial, design, sales, marketing, and fulfillment, to ensure smooth operational flows.
• Be prepared to work additional hours as required to meet pressing deadlines.
• Engage in occasional travel for printer visits, press checks, and meetings.
