Key Responsibilities
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing team of Purchasing Coordinators, offering guidance, training, and mentorship.
- Formulate and implement strategic purchasing initiatives aimed at optimizing costs, improving quality, and increasing supply chain responsiveness.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers, conduct contract negotiations, and ensure competitive pricing.
- Champion continuous improvement projects to streamline procurement processes, minimize costs, and boost efficiency.
- Identify and manage supply chain risks, including market fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and potential disruptions.
- Utilize data analytics and ERP systems to inform decisions and monitor key performance metrics.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulations (such as AS9100 and MIL-STD), and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, quality, and finance teams to ensure alignment and achieve organizational objectives.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management, encompassing at least 3 years in a leadership position within the aerospace and defense sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, ISM) are advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of aerospace and defense industry regulations, including AS9100, MIL-STD, and export control mandates.
- Demonstrated success in cost-reduction strategies, supplier negotiations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to analyze data effectively and make informed decisions.
