Key Responsibilities
- Act as a field-based representative, collaborating closely with research and operations teams.
- Assist waste generators in identifying and classifying waste, excess materials, and recyclables.
- Ensure compliance with waste management protocols in alignment with regulations and corporate policies.
- Contribute to the development of waste sampling plans by utilizing available process information.
- Compile and prepare waste characterization documentation and data packages.
- Review and submit waste documentation for necessary approvals.
- Identify requirements for waste packaging and assist in implementation.
- Initiate and support pollution prevention measures.
- Engage in organizational assessments and reviews concerning waste and excess material management.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental compliance and waste management regulations.
- In-depth understanding of Federal and State environmental laws, particularly those applicable in Tennessee.
- Familiarity with relevant government directives related to environmental protection and waste management.
- Technical proficiency in areas such as transuranic waste management and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of environmental and waste sampling methodologies and data verification processes.
- Experience with environmental data management tools and waste tracking systems.
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in environmental compliance and waste management is advantageous.
