What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Gifted Children, Inc?
The role of the program coordinator is to help individuals with intellectual disability/mental health reach their goals, develop skills and provide support as required. The position is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and rehabilitation and facilitates the development of independent and self-help skills of individual. The program coordinator is responsible for training, planning, supervising and coordinating the work of individuals. As well as ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
Must have a passion and desire to work with people with intellectual disabilities and other physical or mental disabilities. Knowledge of simple health and safety precautions. Ability to use computers and other electronic equipment. Ability to interact with individuals, community members and other members. Ability to read and comprehend technical training manuals. Ability to follow written and oral instructions course of action. Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous management and supervisory experience is a plus
- Previous experience working with neurodiverse individuals
- Previous experience in a learning/teaching environment is a plus
- NYS driver's license

- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations
- Responsible for managing, planning, supervising, and coordinating the work of individuals
- Effectively communicate and support the organization's mission, vision and values.
- Ensuring goals are met in areas including individual and family satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
- Communicate regularly with mentors, family members, and community partners.
- Development and ongoing supervision of future budgets, staffing, maintenance, and safety operations to provide quality support and engagement with individual
- Attends and participates in required Diversity meetings, staff development and training programs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

- No nights
- No weekends
