The Gilbert Residence is a highly respected provider of nursing and assisted living services for seniors in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
We are currently seeking a team member to contribute to our tradition of excellence by providing compassionate and dignified care for seniors in our community.
The accounting assistant position serves a critical role in the financial and operations aspects of the facility. The position is in charge of billing, A/P, and payroll. Candidates must possess proficient computer skills and experience with accounting software. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and Human Resources.
DUTIES
-Process bi-weekly payroll for 120 employees
-Verify and process A/P items for payment.
-Print and prepare checks for signature and mailing
-Prepare, review and mail resident monthly billing statements
-Collections phone calls as needed
-Collect and process employee benefit enrollments/changes
-Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
-Associates in Accounting, current accounting student or 2 years equivalent job experience
-Excellent customer service skills
-Above average understanding/ knowledge of MS office suite- particularly Excel
-Experience with ADP is a plus
-Work well individually and as a team
-Ability to handle detail work under pressure
