Position Summary: The VP of Girl Experience and Product Program leads efforts to engage and retain Girl Scouts by developing and delivering high-quality, diverse programs across all pillars (STEM, Outdoor, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship) and within Product Program. This role utilizes data-driven insights to improve program offerings and enhance the overall Girl Scout experience, ensuring that youth have opportunities to grow, lead, and make a lasting impact.


The VP of Girl Experience and Product Program provides strategic leadership to align programming with the council’s strategic priorities. This role combines creativity, vision, and execution to deliver fun and innovative experiences. Collaborating across departments, the VP ensures effective program implementation, monitors performance, and fosters continuous improvement. They are responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional Girl Scout programs, creating meaningful and impactful experiences for girls.


In collaboration with the VP of Membership and Member Experience, they work to empower volunteers and team members in program delivery, address barriers to participation, and refine processes that enhance the Girl Scout experience.


Major Accountabilities-Girl Experience

1. Leads the team to act swiftly and enthusiastically to bring new GSUSA and Regional Girl Experience opportunities to life.

2. Leads Girl Experience team to develop robust and captivating council-wide and regional turnkey programs as well as tools for support of Service Unit programming

3. Direct the development of council-aligned strategic and tactical plans that result in improvement in girl participation, access, and engagement

4. Oversee, develop and expand program partnership strategies that result in increased programmatic experiences and access

5. Reviews reports, surveys, and monitors trends in girl programming to develop growth and contingency strategies

6. Develops annual operating budget for Girl Experience department, including income and expense projections

7. Collaborates with Membership team ensuring outcomes for the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience and council goals are met in Membership program delivery

8. Collaborates cross-functionally to achieve council goals

9. Promotes and supports council-wide public relations and resource development efforts

10. Collaborates with cross-functional team to develop and implement a programming budget that effectively supports programming growth and ongoing needs

11. Ensures access and inclusion in all program opportunities for girls and adults


Major Accountabilities-Product Program

1. Create program strategies utilizing insights gained from resources such as baker partner, peer council best practices, participant feedback, and council needs in collaboration with CEO, CFO and CMDO.

2. Leads Product Program team in planning, organizing, and implementing the Council program product program (fall and cookie) strategies and campaigns.

3. Oversee the creation, alignment, and delivery of a comprehensive marketing & communications framework.

4. Establishes long-range goals, strategies, and plans for council product program to meet and exceed annual net revenue & participation goals.

5. Develops annual operating budget for product program, including income and expense projections.

6. Direct development of a council-wide annual training program for staff, volunteers, and caregivers that highlights the Girl Leadership Experience and outcomes of the product programs and promotes a high level of girl participation.

7. Oversees the design and execution of the council’s rewards programs including data analysis and stakeholder impact.

8. Oversees vendor relationships, inventory and logistics of product distribution and ensures consistent processes and timelines are executed.

3. Provides strong leadership and effective management by guiding team member performance, offering continuous feedback, collaborating with HR on recruitment and onboarding, setting clear goals, delegating responsibilities, addressing challenges, and ensuring opportunities for team member training and development are provided.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications, youth development or a relevant field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. 5 years demonstrated experience in program development, youth engagement, strategic planning and budget oversight.

3. Proven expertise in project management, team management and cross-functional collaboration, with a track record of contributing to the development of both short- and long-term business process improvement strategies.

4. Passionate and enthusiastic about the Girl Scouts Mission and dedicated to member advocacy, with a strong sense of urgency and a results-driven mindset.

5. Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and trends, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive program improvements.

6. Exceptional written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to be diplomatic, persuasive, and build support and commitment.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis in Excel required.

8. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some travel, night and weekend hours as needed.

9. Valid driver’s license is required.

10. Actively and consistently demonstrate the Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons values.

11. Ability to maintain active, paid membership in the Girl Scouts movement annually.

12. Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance.


Working Conditions/Physical and Safety Requirements:

1. Work is primarily performed in an office setting, requiring extended periods of sitting at a desk and using standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, and phones. Occasional travel may be required for off-site meetings, events, or program-related activities.

2. Occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 20 lbs such as supplies and equipment.

3. Regular use of hand dexterity for typing, writing, and handling documents.

4. Mobility to move around the office, attend meetings or visit other locations as necessary.

5. Successful completion of required pre-hire criminal background checks is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary : $75,000 - $84,000
