Description

Job Summary

The Community Partnership Coordinator will play a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of Girl Scouts within the Tulsa metro and outlying communities through research, marketing and program delivery. This position focuses on building strong relationships with underserved and emerging populations by engaging with community leaders, schools, businesses and faith-based organizations.  This is a safety sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement and Relationship Building:
    • Act as a liaison between GSEOK and underserved/emerging communities within the council footprint.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, members, and organizations.
    • Attend community events, forums, meetings and cultural celebrations to represent the organization and foster trust. Be aware of national observances and important dates related to each community.
    • Continually educate and promote the Girl Scout mission, values and purpose to each community.
    • Conduct community assessments to understand the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities within each community.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications for social media promotions and informational content.
    • Serve as a resource for community members seeking support or information about the organization.
    • Gather feedback from community members to continuously improve programs and services.
  • Program Development and Delivery:
    • Collaborate with community liaisons to design and implement a Girl Scout curriculum that meets the specific needs and interests of the girls and families within their communities.
    • Collaborate with community liaisons to develop historical and cultural programs for external delivery to all GSEOK members and their families.
    • Deliver afterschool, summer, evening and weekend programs directly to girls in these communities.
  • Support:
    • Provide bilingual assistance to Spanish speaking families and community liaisons.
    • Work with Training Coordinator to provide training and resources for staff and volunteers to effectively work with each individual community.
    • Foster an inclusive environment that values diversity and participation from all community members.
  • Reporting and Evaluation:
    • Track and report on the progress of community engagement initiatives, including participation metrics and feedback from participants.
    • Provide regular reports on community engagement activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide data and program information for grant reports.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, community development, education, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent directly related experience.
  • Plus a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual proficiency required (Spanish and English).
  • Proven experience in community outreach or program coordination, preferably with diverse populations.
  • Strong understanding of the cultural, social, and economic issues facing the Hispanic community. Willingness to understand those facing other emerging populations and those of the Native Nation communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), customer relationship management systems, data management software, and social networking. Ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to safety and security guidelines.
  • Present a positive image of Girl Scouting to girls, volunteers, and community members.
  • Demonstrate ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Physically able to move through and between offices, program centers, and other off-site locations as needed.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and the ability to travel as job requires.
