Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Growth of Givens Transportation’s drayage revenue and profitability by receiving, quoting, and winning transportation opportunities from various customer types such as freight forwarders, brokers, and cargo owners.
- Prioritizing new business opportunities for our asset motor carrier while collaborating with our brokerage division to handle overflow business with partner carriers.
- Utilizing our in-house quoting system to calculate costs, accessorial fees, profit margins, and sell-rates to achieve desired profitability.
- Professional communication and interactions with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Present rates and service capabilities to customers and provide follow-up via phone and email to secure new business.
- Coordination with both the asset motor carrier and brokerage teams to ensure visibility of capacity
- Work in conjunction with dispatchers and coordinators as customer point of contact for startup activities.
- Follow ups required to answer any questions about quotes along with building trust and partnerships.
- Keeps records of everyone quoted and builds relationships to constantly grow the drayage product
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the trucking industry, preferably including experience with drayage.
- Knowledge of transportation and drayage terminology and activity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs, especially Excel.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Outgoing personality with a strong customer service mindset.
