SEASONAL JOB OPENING
Season: April through November (or shorter - up to 1,000 hours per season)

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Athletics and Superintendent of Parks, this position is responsible for the setup and maintenance of Baseball and Softball fields on weekends, e.g. dragging and lining of fields and the overall cleanliness of the park. Staff will work approximately 16 hours per weekend. Additional hours are available upon request. This is a Seasonal Position and is scheduled from April through November. Schedules may be flexible. This is an at-will position.
Hours: Saturdays and Sundays 6:00am – 12:00pm (dependent on weather)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative to achieve safe, clean, and well-maintained athletic fields.
- Previous field maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong sense of safety with effective communication skills and a desire to provide quality customer service are essential.
- Prefer candidates 18 or older with a valid IL Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from work. Familiarity with the Glen Ellyn area is a plus! We will consider those under 18 that would NOT be able to drive our vehicles but do have reliable transportation or other means to get to work.
- General knowledge and experience using hand and power tools as well as gasoline and electric powered equipment is preferred.
- Must be in good physical condition to perform manual labor in various weather conditions including high heat/humidity and cold.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a crew.
- Candidates will need to pass a background check following an offer of employment.
