We are currently seeking Crane Operators to join our team in Morgan Hill, CA. The Crane Operator operates a crane both on land and on floating platforms to lift, move, and position loads such as components, equipment, and solid or bulk materials.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform work involving the operation of heavy equipment to assist in the completion of various construction projects
- Plan all lifts, use proper capacity charts, and complete pre-lift/critical lift sheet
- Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load
- Manipulate or depress crane controls such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement
- Use hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket as the load requires
- Perform rigging inspections and daily equipment inspections
- Clean and maintain the crane and hoisting mechanism
- Observe the functioning of equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, repairs, or replacements and inform the supervisor of deficiencies
- Assist on deck to support dive operations as needed
- Don all required personal protection equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 5 years of crane operating experience
- Must have experience operating cranes on floating barges; and
- Must have experience using a clamshell bucket from a floating platform
- Experience with dive operations preferred
Knowledge/Skills
- Must be certified to operate a 90 Ton RT Hydraulic Telescoping Boom Crane
- Rigging and signal person training required
- NCCCO Certification required
Physical / Mental Requirements
- May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs
- Must be able to use fingers, hands, arms, legs, and feet in precisely coordinated movements
- Use of arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls, and tools
- The employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of sitting
- Must be able to withstand the following for up to 8-12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow): stand, walk, push-pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders; repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use

Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The company will not provide a work visa or relocation for this position.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate for candidates is $48.57 - $67.19 per hour
Union members will be eligible for the benefits provided by Operating Engineers LU3
